So, have you ever wanted to send PSP files to your memory stick in one nice package to avoid long transferring times? Well, PSPMad has released a method that will allow you to do just that! At first, PSPMad released a very popular homebrew application (Lua Player) in ISO format. Up until now, ISO's have mostly been used for illegal reasons, but now there is a legal reason in which we can use it. PSPMad's tutorial has outlined the process in which you can convert a homebrew game into ISO format.
Although this process is no where near ideal, it does show an interesting concept. PSPMad's original intention was an attempt to run all homebrew on 2.0+ firmware due to the fact that it can run an ISO launcher. Although, as many PSP veterans are aware of, you can not bypass the GTA exploit limits unless you find and create another exploit. PSPMad's concept was interesting, but it just didn't work correctly.
On 1.5 however, this method does serve a purpose. It is easier to send one package in the mail than it is several packages, and this method can be looked as the "one package" method. By compressing a homebrew in ISO format, one can transfer a single, compressed file to there PSP which drastically decreased transfer time on larger programs (that contain numerous files). Converting the homebrew to ISO format and loading it will take about 4 times the time it regularly takes to launch homebrew, but this is an interesting concept otherwise. This process isn't ideal, nor does it push us futher in our knowledge of the PSP, but you never know what the future may hold! |
