Hey, I was thinking of getting a wireless router and I was wondering if ISO backups work online, I know the Syphon Filter backup didn't and I couldn't get my Gretsky NHL to load and NHL was an actualy UMD. I did get Need For Speed Most Wanted UMD to work though so it wasn't the connection I was feeding off or my PSP. Any Ideas??

I am sure a patch will come out to allow online play, like the ps2. But if you are illegally downloading the games then it would not work you would need to rent the game and then rip the disc id from the umd and then patch the ISO with the disc id.

just curious, why would you need to re-rip the iso the patch it?

Because you would need the disc off of a certain disc (if over 2 people were using the same disc id eg. sharing the disc id over the internet then that disc id wouls be blocked from online play) . If everyone was sharing the disc id's for online play then you could bet that sony would block it if over 2 people were using the same disc id eg. sharing the disc id over the internet then that disc id wouls be blocked from online play. EDIT: Here is the simplest explanation. You would not need to re-rip but just get the disc id from the same game (that is how the DNS online protection on PS2 is bypassed). So one day every PSP ISO will be online compatible. Again I hope that made sense.

if you use the kai engine, you can play backup iso's on the net etc

but some games arn't supported
