Ho hum.

Yes, there's a PS1 emulator. It's called PSPSOne.

It's not really playable, though, and the project seems to be dead.

hmmm

about the pspsp emulator, if we can get the 2nd MM processor and the GPU to cooperate, we can get constant 20-30fps, maybe no high resolution than the original like such as BLEEM! or epsxe, but maybe hardware stretching, because 6mb of VRAM, and i don't know if the 2x 333mhz Processor, and the GPU can take 480x272, 32-bit color, with 2xGlide textures(compressed)... it is definiately posssible though if we can get all the processors to work! <44mhz processor, with 512kb vRAM thats we are trying to emulate ppl!>

From what I've heard, it actually wouldn't be that hard for the PSP to emulate it. The PSP uses an architecture VERY similar to the PSX, and that's why most games are ports instead of original games. If you could code something that would allow the PS1 game to interface and run near-natively on the PSP, you'd have a perfect framerate and everything because of the superior hardware. You wouldn't have to do much emulation, because the game would actually be running off the existing hardware.
