Screw those tools, this worked 100% flawlessly for me!
The Real Way to Eliminate Corrupted Icons
1. Always shorten both folder names to 4 letters
So, instead of "gameboy emulator" it becomes
GAME
2. On the folder that has the "%" at the end,
change it to "1~1%"
Now it looks like this "GAME1~1%"
3. Name the other folder by the same 4 letters (GAME)then it is followed by 28 spaces and then a 1.
So that one looks like "GAME 1"
This has worked flawlessly for me for every app/homebrew game. This helps for already KXPloited games and for PSP 1.5's that have like 8 different homebrews.
Let me know if this works for you, it worked 100% for me :P.

but it dosent work for all homebrew, some, like smm and IR shell need to stay the same folder name to function |

i took my psp back to target with receit with everything and told them i want a new one if they ask if something is wrong say no and u only want a differnt firmware thats what i did and it worked i checked the side for the infamous c and got it, it was a 2.00 and downgraded  thanks MPH |

Enjoy | Still got three corrupted icons but out of 13 different homebrew apps and games that isn't bad (a lot better than before) thanks.
EDIT: No corrupt icons I checked again and I had done a few things wrong.
