can the battery affect my umd!!

iv been having problems loading umds on my psp, but when the battery has been removed for a short while then replaced, it loads up!! any ideas anyone??

not effect the umd imo..but effect the drive..quite possible.

socom ftb and useless microphone that came with it (awsome game tho..espacilly online)
smackdown v raw 2006 (really bad loading times)
wipeout pure (no online play)
gta: liberty city storys (good but same old stuff)
Fired up (amazing ad hoc fun,crap single player)

wud a new battery fix this dya reckon? i just cant understand why it wud load up once after the battery has been out for half hour, but if i then turn my psp off and on again it wont load the game!!

yeah my inexperience tells me that maybe your drive aint getting enough 'juice' or maybe your battery is running to hot. if it is working after the battery is removed and re-inserted then i would say dodgy battery..but dont take that as gospel fella.

does it do this with every umd in your collection?

does it do this when the psp is connected to the ac adapater?

iv tried it with 3 umds, and they all do the same, and yeah it even does it when the ac adaptor is plugged in, sony wont help cos its a jap psp!! they want to charge me 115 quid and take it away for 7-9 weeks!!!

well you can get a psp £170 new..so hardly worth it imo :P

i would say it is running to hot..have any of your mates got a battery you can try before you fork out ££ for a new one?

yeah i was gonna go try my mates sons one tomoro, can the battery reallly get that hot, that quick though!!

i dont want a new one tho, it probably wont be a 1.5, which is what i have now

if the battery is faulty then anything is possible.

the way i see it is..the battery is the only source of energy the psp. you know whta can happen to pc's when something fucks up with your electricity (ie storm)...it spikes. it could be spiking your psp or something.

i never have problems with heat usually..but i did once after a 5 hour session on socom online..(plugged in and not plugged in) my psp died momentarly and i had to remove the battery.

its just weird how it works sometimes and not others (mostly not) thankgod for devhook, otherwise my psp wud be useless!! is there anyway i can contact psp japan?? send it back directly?

not a clue matey...hopefully some of teh more technical guys will notice this thread and try and aid you in more assistance..as my knowledge is pretty basic. hope you get it sorted tho mate.

imo your best bet is your mates battery...try it and see.
