Points: 0.83 Donate | | | LUA Image size? what is the largest size of an image i can load in LUA? when i try to load a font .png, it wont let me. i get an 'error loding image' message. is there a way to stop this error and load the image?

Points: 1.13 Donate | | | Well you have to make sure it's a .png or a .jpg image type first. I know you can defiantly pictures over 1000x1000 pixels to load in luaplayer, but it'd be better to tile it. You've probably loaded the image the wrong way. |

Points: 1.13 Donate | | | Over 3000x3000 would most likely crash it, 1000x1000 is about as far as you want to go.
Altair managed quite a big picture for redalua, but it was in low quality. Agaska also did have quite a big picture, but used the tileing technique for GTA2lua.
The tileing technique is when you get close to another part of the map, then it'll appear and things you are far away from will be cleared from the memory, and then later reblitted when they are in range.

That tek-neek seems like it could come in handy. | I don't think there's a tutorial on it, but say if something comes within 300 pixels ofthe x coordinate of your player then it with screen:blit(x,y,whatever) and thing behind clears.

Points: 0.83 Donate | | | ok thankyou peoples. well the iumage i am trying to load is 944 x 16 pixels. but it wont load, says there is an error. the image is a .png, and i got it from LUMOS site. im trying to use it as a font, but cant unless i make it really small, like the size of the psp screen
