independant psp repairs UK

iv spoke to the sony careline, who then spoke to their technical department, cos i rang up to ask about my faulty umd drive, they want to charge me to fix it cos its a jap psp, so i sed fair enough, when i stated i didnt want the firmware to be updated from 1.5, the guy on the phone asked why, it makes no difference to ur psp just better security!! i told him it would loose retail value for when i wanted to sell it!! as 1.5's are more sought after, he rang me back earlier to confirm if i sent it for repair they would definately update it to at least a 2.6, so itll cost £115 to repair it and lose £100 off the second hand retail price!! so i sed "fuck you" (in a polite way) so im wondering does anyone in the uk know of somewhere thatll fix my umd drive, that aint sony!!! like an independant company??

If i remember correctly PugMe, in the last thread that you started about this. You stated that you could play the UMD of Metal Gear Acid, then when you went back to the XMB it told you that the region code was incorrect, Correct me if im wrong..
