Points: 5.40 Donate | | | ill have to agree with u bth that it does sound to gd .... nd the fact we dnt have the sonys encryption key to run undesigned code through the flash files.... nd how wud u beable to run 2 custom fw's on ur psp ..... i wud have thought that if we tried that then the psp wud simply restore to default settings... i cud b wrong |

If this uses the modchip, it seems pointless, if it doesn't it is near-impossible. to make the FW respond before it has booted (eg respond to a keypress), you must alter the FW files in flash 0. Aside from the legality of reverse engineering software, you would then need to put the modified 2.71 back into flash 0, which is the problem in the first place!!! |

| | | | It's simple, what they have done is create a new custom firmware to work with the undiluted platinum mod chip. this is what the creators of the UP mod chip said they were going to let developers do.
BTW, it is possible to boot a custom firmware before the default one has loaded. all you need is an intergrated circuit which will override the default loader and allow you to switch by pressing the L button. it just so happens that the UP modchip has this circuitry
