| | | | Sony Key Cracking shared Distrubition Hello there, i read af ew months ago about this idea on the forums, many people thought it was possible. The Idea of a mass distrubution of computer power to break sony encyption algorithim, i don't know where this lead a few months ago but i would like to bring this up and would like people with knowledge in this area to express thier opinion as to whether if this is a viable solution to create such a program tobe shared across users to help crack the code. |

Distributed computing can break that protection and if you are lucky it would take some seconds but in the worst case it's a matter of years.
If I remember well, there was a breaking of an AES key using distributed computing a year ago, but it was shorter than PSP one... Anyway it was a key generated for that purpose: any attempt with a real key is strongly illegal. |

| | Member | | | | | it would still take 2yrs imo to break the code with a million users dedicating a 8cpu Opertron Server working at 100% 24/7 |

Every time you run an eboot it calls to a different key in the eboot, if that key is not there then it would not work. Even if you crack one key, which is highly unlikely, it would still take like 100 tries to get it to boot. So, stop starting new threads about the same thing that already has a final answer.
Edit: Plz use the search option before starting more and more threads with the exact same questions and answers in them.

If anyone is flaming its you. I wasnt specifically aiming anything I said to you, so dont take it that way, also I am very experienced with the PSP and PS2. If asked, i could answer almost any question about the psp itself, I have been in the scene since the psp came out in the us and i dont appreciate being called in-experienced. O, also , sry if that answer was not made simple enough. The key is not just one key, I leave it at that. |
