Hi to all,

I have just got my PSP 1.5 back, but I don't have any UMDs. I obviously need a UMD to put in the drive so that my emulation software will work.

My question is simple; do I need an actual game, or will a demo UMD or a movie work for this purpose? Quick answer would be apreciated so I can go get what I need then enjoy the sun

Any UMD will work with the right application installed properly and with the right settings etc...

Some movies may not work because of region problems but there is a way to bypass it somehow!

DevHook 0.3Mod by Chossy Works without a UMD insterted.

I think he has a demo disk so he could just use that, or buy an old second hand psp game to boot his ISO's. It is worth having a UMD to boot your ISO's and it isn't asking much to buy one game to boot all your free ISO's.

Thanks for the info guys. I bought a magazine with a "free" demo UMD but my American PSP won't play it or use it to boot my games

I'm gonna buy a game tomorrow, but what I want to know now is; will UK game UMDs run on my USA PSP? I was under the impression that they would, but the demo disc being the "wrong region" kind of threw me!

PS I'm gonna try DevHook as advised above tonight, but am I right in thinking that is only for ISOs as opposed to rips?

I had the same problem as you, I found the best loader out there - called
DEVHOOK EVOLVED, runs all types of ISO including dax. Works perfectly
for me and I have nether had an UMD in the drive.

Went and bought Matrix Reloaded movie UMD for a tenner and it works even though it's region 2! Bizarre. Anyway, thanks a lot to all those who helped.

Trust me that isn't the best, DevHook 0.41d is, and it isn't much to get a game (like one of the launch titles) for quite cheap second hand. I use Ape Academy and that requires 1.0 so that is always in the drive and doesn't pose a risk to my psp with people updating it.

EDIT: It says in your sig rob that you have GTA LCS original why don't you use that to boot your ISO's?
