and sony has fixed those files and if the ones from 2.01+ are altered with then it will brick ur psp showing no psp version..... |

The reason it does that is because the ipl in 2.5/2.6 checks to make sure it is the right version, so it wouldnt read if it was any other version. Quote: |

Now, if you switched the index on a 2.01 it would work, cuz the only difference between 2.0 and 2.01 is that the tif is blocked, so technically the only downgradable firmwares with the MPH method is 2.0, and 2.01. 2.5/2.6 would either brick or read as "System Software Version" with no number, so you cant launch any update, not even the newest one. |

We wont even need to write to flash 0, all this can be done in the ram, so no flashing necessary. |

And it wouldnt just be 1 file to be replaced, a couple files would have to be edited and switched in order to even think of having a chance of booting like that from the XMB without the patch, and what you said about replacing the flash with 1.50 or 1.00 is just stupid, that is flashing, and when it comes to flashing there is always a high risk of brickage, but if Dark_Alex perfects his Flasher/Downgrader then that would be cool, but still, having 2.6 with full homebrew from the XMB would be sweet | |
