Points: 3.73 Donate | | | psp virus Okay, i googled this and there is a virus(s) for the psp ( i guess) but they said the only way you could get it was by downloading stuff of the internet for downgrading (there was a downgrader that was fake) but now im wondering, could i brick my psp just by putting something like a pic. or vid. on my psp?(if my comp. has a virus(s) and it infects one of the files i plan on putting on my psp, could it mess it up) also could downloading things such as the family guy episodes from this site do it?

P.S. now that i think of it...i think it was a trojan...idk some said trojan..others said it was a worm..others said a virus, personally i dont care what it is, if it messes up my psp im gonna be mad

Points: 0.21 Donate | | | See, here's how the trojan worked. It was only for 2.0, and it ran off the TIF exploit. When launched, it *deleted* some major files from the firmware, thus bricking the PSP. This means you'd have to manually insert all the necessary files into the Photo folders, install the bin files, etc. It can't be passed through videos, pictures or music, mainly because the trojan ran off a *specific* 2.0 exploit. There are no exploits for video, mp3, etc at this time, so there is no danger of running the trojan accidentally from an infected video. |
