Part of what makes the chip tick is a custom boot code that does not have the ipl checks that the biult in chip does. Basicly, if devhook can run it, the mod chip can. But the epsilon bios is still almost defenalty a fake, and untill someone cracks the ipl code, there will never be non-modchip custom bios's.
--afterthought--
I think it's possible to mod the ipl loading code. This is what alows us to downgrade from 1.5 to 1.0. But still, this is encrypted and untill it is fully cracked, there will be no custom f/w's.

Points: 35.71 Donate | | this is y i stayed with 1.5 and didn't downgrade because i kinda knew making custom firmware would be hard since i tryied to do that with devhook swapping files from 1.5-2.5 and yea it didn't come out good because i got no where lol just got the internet browser to show up but it froze when i went to it then i got the new psp background when loading and yea thats about it
so untill someone can EDIT the files and then re-encrypt them i will downgrade or untill someone finds another way to make a custom firmware
