I've been watching a lot on all the upgrade stuff. When sony issues out a new firmware, they aren't really adding anything, they are just applying security patches to keep the hackers/homebrew out. If that's true than a downgrader is a pointless battle. All it's doing is driving a bigger wedge between Users and homebrewers because it's just going to get harder to switch back and forth so that you can run homebrew and play new psp games. FW 2.0 seems to be the base for the current fw and 2.0+ is mostly security patches. Wouldn't it be better to run homebrew on 2.0 and then have fw cracks for 2.0+ to trick the system into thinking the FW is there for any new games. I don't know if that's what Fanjita and the rest are really shooting for, but from what I keep reading every where, everyone is just wanting a downgrader to come out of this, which is a never ending war of fw versions and updates.

LMAO Hell yeah, with the way sony is. I dont agree with you although, as I believe sony will never give up. They are Greedy bastards, as I have said more then once, and they want profit profit profit, by selling more games and accessories and psps. So if it they have to make people brick their psps just to make people buy another one, they will do it.

Sony won't give up lol, infact sony are going to make so many updates that they're going to start making games that need fw with 3.0.+. Homebrew won't be able to catch up then. So everyone just face it, homebrew is GOING to die one way or another.

Yes it is true. Just imagine Sony actually hire people to find the exploit. As someone once said, all the firmware have already been made, they are just waiting to be released. When someone cracks a firmware, another one is released.

I agree, so long as there are people that want it, homebrew will always be there. Sony will eventually start losing profits because homebrew is free and if some wicked homebrew stuff comes out that requires updating, eventually people will stop updating. I currently have 2.0 only so that I can run Socom. GTA looks like fun, but I won't get it because everyone says you have to upgrade further just to play it and I want the current ability to downgrade if something I really want comes out in homebrew.

I hope they know what are they doing it for. Probably this is the part of the way to make running of the homebrew on 2.5 much easier than it is now.
Yes, a lot of people hope on the homebrew-downgradin 2.5. But as for me, the
most usefull thing is ISO LOADER for 2.5-2.6 etc or (and) the abillity to partitually emulate firmware (again for launchin games and using things as browser).

And I think that Sony should to stop acting against the homebrew, cos hb is not the pirate thing anyway.

What is more likely to die. Something that is free with the later ability to get the new pricey stuff that sony puts out. Or, Something that is pricey and you get to sit back and watch all your friends play something cool that was free?
