Object Code is machine-executable instructions, usually generated by a compiler from source code written in a higher-level language (such as C). It is Source sode that has been moved, de-bugged, tweaked, modified and twisted by the compiler until it includes all the neccessary librarys and such.
Source code (Sometimes referred to as Simply "source" or "code") the first draft of an exectuable or otherwise useable file written in some human-readable programming language. In programming languages, the source code which strucures a program is usually in several different text-based files. It usually lists librarys to incorporate into the final product, mostly for adding functionality such as Audio, video, or image playback/display. When fed through a compiler, it is interpreted into a series of characters that is useless to the human eye. This is Object code. All the library code is thrown in, and it is formatted into a file that an Operating system can open and use, in our case, an EBOOT for the PSP.
These particular executables that originate from Sony are signed, and any major or dangerous changes are eventually wittled-down to, and found using a serious of checksums and security checks.
It is possible to generate source code from object code, but is almost impossible in the case of a Sony EBOOT. You can see this yourself, as in the "Terms of Use" in an Update, it says:
"You must not attempt to create the Source code from the Object code in this file."
So, you see, not only is editing a signed EBOOT next-to-impossible, but the source code of any of Sony's applications is likely never going to be seen by the eyes of any general PSP user. |

Doubleposted Message Below:
i think that the 2.5/2.6 downgrader works on 2.7/2.71 but 1st we need to find a way of running unsigned code in those fw's
