MPH has just released the first version of PSPLZMA, a homebrew 7-Zip decompressing utility, which expands .7z formatted/extension files to the root of the PSP's memory stick. At the moment, the tool only decompresses one file at a time, requiring that file to be named "archive.7z".
The 7-Zip format is a decent compressing algorithm, along the lines of ZIP and RAR archives. Though less commonly used by the masses, it has been slowly gaining momentum, due to its versatile nature and great quality compression. Good work on the port, MPH! Download PSPLZMA 7-Zip Decompressor v1.0 from PSP 3D here. Check out more information about the utility here.

Unless, of course, you happen to surf the Internet with your PSP and you happen to download 7zip formatted content....
