TyRaNiD has just announced the planned release of the final new version of PSPLINK, a tool for homebrew development and debugging. PSPLINK provides a PC shell of the PSP through SIO, WIFI, or USB connections, allowing you to view your PSP through the PC, dump the memory, or take screenshots of your PSPs screen through your PC; all in realtime. Although he has not officially released the last version, as soon as it's out (which should be shortly), we will add the respective download link into the post. Great work on the entire project TyRaNiD, we hope to see your name attached to some even bigger developments in the future!
Although this application is pretty useless to those unfamiliar with PSP
homebrew development, it can be quite helpful to developers, as you can simply and easily place new builds of homebrew on your PSP without having to do all the transferring, connecting/disconnecting, etc, which makes development a hassle. And if you have a hard time getting PSP screenshots via homebrew, using this application makes it a piece of cake (once you get everything set up right, make sure to read the readme and manual).
New features/fixes in v2.0 include:
- Few disasm bugs fixed.
- Added a sysstat command to print things like number of clock cycles spent in the idle thread.
- Added a psplink.ini option for a startup script, by specifying this a script will be run every time psplink is reset. Superceeds the the old modload command and allows you to do anything including patching up ram.
- Added a uidinfo command to print some more info about a specific UID.
- Added a daemon mode to remotejoy.
- Added a few more instructions to the disasm.
- Added a specific hardware breakpoint command, before you had to know how the hardware debugger worked to set a hardware breakpoint.
