The PSP Has A Lot Going For It!

Recently, there has been a lot of negative talk about the PlayStation Portable's future, mostly coming from narrow-minded, near-sighted analysts and individuals with a goal set to stir up the masses and evoke anti-Sony propoganda, furthering their own personal interests to gain public support and make a name in the world that we call "the Internet".

Of course, not all of it is based on opinions, some is based off market trends, and even a smaller percentage, on facts. We've taken a look at everything that's been in the news the past few weeks and come to a few conclusions. Read the entire article to find out!

yea great article. but i think that the psp may have a narrow future because sony is getting strick now on the hacks now that we are performing for ex. Booster getting sued by sony Rumor and the recent crack in the downgrade of 2.6

Well said! It's about time that someone wrote down what we were all thinking, but unable to properly articulate.

Hey, i dont like the article, and when that is what all are thinking then all are stupid.

so u say EA cant make games that are fun, just poorly port them from ps2, and rockstar can.

so, rockstart DID port their GTA 3, just with a new main character in it, which isnt SO well made either.

now they are porting GTA VC, with a new main character, i dont see their creativity ..

ah and GTA is still GTA so its natural that "evryone" with a PSP wants to have it.

aahahahah and btw, u only could count loco roco, huh? .. coz its the only 1 XD

btw. i love my psp but i wanted it just for ff7 and ff7 is one of the main reasons why the ps1 selled so well and i think the psp will have a boost on sells 2 when it comes out.

Final Fantasy 7 did most definitely boost sales of the Original Playstation, at least 4 of my friends purchased one after they tried it.
What the PSP needs is a killer title, like Halo or better yet a GOOD Final Fantasy, no ports. Syphon filter and GTA were both pretty good hits, but the DS with lower priced great titles like Brain Age, Big Brain Academy, Nintendogs, it just takes the cake. There are also other awesome original titles like Trauma Center, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Even games like Mario Kart DS, Tetris DS, and Animal Crossing:Wild World have lots of great new content (and WiFi Connect) that just make the games a great deal of fun. If I were to choose between a DS and 5 games and a PSP with 5 Games, both non-homebrewable, I would (unfortunately) choose the DS, The games are just good.
Before the DS was released, EVERYONE was laughing at it, though it was the Dumbest Idea ever, but with the DS's game library vs the PSP's game library, the DS just takes the cake

Wow... I am sounding like a Nintendo fanboy...
But the one thing the PSP has that the DS will (not likely anyways) not have, is a great homebrew scene. Although DS homebrew is ok, the PSP beats it by far.
But in terms of games, the DS does unfortunately win.
That is why $ony NEEDS to smarten up their act, give us GOOD first party games and better, more usable features in the firmware updates, not lousy demos.

Sony NEEDS new staff from the homebrew scene to liven things up there.

There's my rant, Hope you liked it , and If anyone flames me, there post gets deleted

i dont agree, look at the chips that nintendo uses for the gameboys, i think the umd format is a success compared to that. and did u eeally think that it would take over for cd's and stuff? i dont think sony thought that this would be a huge success, it was made for the psp, and inside the psp, it's a success.
