News posting has been returned to normal (update 9/6/06).
The final step of the PSP3D.com improvement project is now complete. Our new server is up and running, and most (not all) of the visitors have been successfully transferred to the new server (the few lagging behind should be transferred in a day or two, at most). Now then, allow me to present to you the long awaited list of improvements here at 3D!
Changelog of everything that's happened the past two weeks:
- New server. It's fast, and can handle massive quantities of traffic. It will keep us going for a long time.
- Videos section complete. Though there is still work to be done, the basic frontend is complete, and a top videos section has been added on frontpage.
- Two new site administrators (in addition to myself).
- Permalink, Digg, Furl, and Del.icio.ous tools at the bottom of every homepage post added; help spread the word about our news!
- New logo. The old cube was getting... old. Out with the old, in with the new! The three small cubes are now 3D's signature mark.
- Site width changed; accommodates for branded campaigns in the near future, as well as overall asthetic improvement.
- Articles. There will be a lot more of them from now on.
- New 3D sites! PS3, Wii, Hardware, and many more to come soon!
- A lot of other updates as well, see if you can find 'em yourself!
All along, PSP3D.com was run by one administrator, myself. In the past few weeks, I've noticed that it would be to the benefit of the community to introduce two new administrators, Cody L. and Joe D. (from CraveOnline.com), to the site. They've been around for the past two weeks, and so far, have done a fantastic job posting news (less this whole week because of the server move and other administrative issues), moderating, and interacting with the rest of you all. Please give them a warm welcome.
I would also like to signal the
grand opening of Hardware 3D, the latest edition to the 3D community, focused on hardware news, reviews, and articles. Be sure to check out the forums as well; there's a plethora of categories to post about your specific issues and/or topics of conversation (even graphics)! Alongside this new addition, we would like to mention the re-release of PS33D.com and NWii3D.com. It's been a hectic few weeks, and they somehow got left behind as we focused our energy on PSP3D.com and Hardware3D.com (as well as other, non-3D sites). All of the 3D sites will be news posting at full speed, once again.
There's a lot to come to the 3D community. We are working hand-in-hand with retail game developers as well as homebrew developers to bring you the latest. Soon, we will have exclusive interviews with the top in the gaming industry, exclusive trailers and gameplay previews, and tons of sponsored activities from our corporate partners. There's some sweet contests planned in the next few months as well, but in the meantime, developers, don't forget to start submitting to
the PSP3D Ultimate Cash Giveaway, you could win up to $200 in prize money!
