Apparently, the emulator is based on PacManFan's port of PCSX, a PC-based Playstation emulator, and PCSX's creators are none too happy:
"Regarding PSX-P, can you remove that emulator ... until the source to it has been released?
It's a clear port of PCSX, and PCSX is under the GPL license, which forbids any port / derivative of it to be released without source."
In other words, for a program or any of it's derivations to be released properly under the GPL, the program's source code must be released simultaneously. Yoshihiro has not yet released the PSX-P source, so the PCSX team asserts that their software's license has been violated.
PacManFan had the following to say: "I did pass the torch, However, Yoshi[hi]ro said he would at least mention me, and he didn't. I hate to be an a$$ about it, but Yoshi[hi]ro has been claiming that he coded this thing himself. The only change he's made so far has been to the game selection screen."
Between the possible GPL violations and the lack of crediting, it seems that PSX-P may be headed for some trouble. As a result, we have removed the download link to PSX-P from our front page, and will refrain from posting it again until further notice, or until the source has been posted alongside the release, because as of now, PSX-P is illegal.

| | | | All he has to do is to release the source and people will look "over" this issue. Otherwise this is really a violation of the GPLv2 and it is great to see that a lot of sites take this seriously. |

Anyway, i'm sure Yoshi will release the source and finally will give credit to original PCSX authors, and to pacmanfan for the port on PSP ... | |
