The company has revealed that the upcoming Metal Gear Acid 2 will include the trailer directly on the game's UMD disk. Apparently, by using the included 3D viewing goggles, you'll be able to get a 3Dish view of the next generation MGS footage."
Hmm, interesting, I'd like to see the MGS 4 trailer in 3D...but not if I have to use that HUGE nerdy looking thing. ROFLMAO!
Anyways, I don't quite understand the whole 3D thing...what's the purpose? At this point it's a large addon (albeit an expensive one) that only will work for ONE game, and what the heck, aren't all games in 3D already? What are they gonna do, make it look like Solid Snake is popping out at you? We'll have to see how this one turns out as more info comes in. Source

Source | Yes, all games are renedered in 3D, but they are displayed on a 2D device (the LCD screen). This device is probably a set of steroscopic goggles. Basically shows each eye a different image, which tricks your mind into seeing "Solid Snake popping out at you". Kind of like those stupid red/blue goggles but a little more high tech.
Yes, it is a stupid idea - it is for this one game and you can't carry it around. But as you mentioned, it's only for the cinematic scenes, so won't need it for actual gameplay. But at least it's something new/original. |

Look, I have tried the 3d thing on my nvidia 7800gtx sli, on my apple 30" monitor it looks cool (its still too small, so your saying that 4 inch is small right? The goggles are for making direct contact of a screen, like a "Virtual Screen" of like maybe 100 inches "virtual effect", so if you get those transfilm glasses that you stole from Disneyland, World, Universal Studios etc, look at the difference (theres going to be Snake popping out on a 4inch screen with glasses, and about like lifesize on the goggles) you know what i mean?
