Cpasjuste has updated his new homebrew application for use with Firmware 2.71 SE-B, allowing users to overclock your PSP. If you recall yesterday's release, this would clock your system to 333 Mhz. Now, as we all know, that kinda power has the potential to greatly increase your PSP's performance, but would not allow users to use Wi-Fi in games. However, now that this has been updated, you can select from many different speeds, each with it's own advantages and disadvantages.
111 Mhz - Slow performance, great battery life.
222 Mhz (Standard) - Average performance and battery life.
300 Mhz - Faster performance, lower battery life. Wi-Fi working.
333 Mhz - Fastest performance, lowest battery life. No Wi-Fi.
Please note, that if you plan to clock your PSP to 111 Mhz, you may find that some games will simply not run. This is because there is just not enough power, and this speed is not advised.
Also,
this program will write to the Flash0, and as always, there is a risk associated. Make sure you have a decent amount of battery life when flashing. Also, using this with homebrew applications which use 1.50 modules is not recommended. For safety reasons, the XMB will always be run at 222 Mhz.
Excellent work, Cpasjuste! It's always great to see other developers jump in on the popular stuff!
