2.71SE-C And HEN-D Released!

Dark_AleX has done it again, releasing firmware v2.71 SE-C and HomebrewEnabler for v2.71 (HEN) revision D!

We'll start with the 2.71 SE custom firmware. The latest change (only one) is:
-The ability to load modules from the memory stick.

A big update? We think so!

Unfortunately, you'll need to install this freshly, since there is no simple updating system in place. Here's how:

- Discard your old 'DATA.DXAR', if you've used SE before.
- Extract seupdmaker, seupdmaker%, 271seflasher and 271seflasher% from the NEWINSTALL folder into your GAME150 Folder (GAME folder on 1.50 or if you've changed it from the Recovery menu in 2.71 SE)
- Download the 1.50 and 2.71 Firmware update files.
- Rename the update files to 150.PBP and 271.PBP respectively.
- Copy/Move them to the 'seupdmaker' folder.
- After that, run the Update Maker application from the 'GAME>Memory Stick' menu. Once it's done making the DXAR file, move the new .DXAR file to the 271seflasher folder.
- Execute the 271 SE Flasher from the GAME menu to flash 2.71SE-C!
- Once done, you can delete all the four folders; but we suggest keeping them for later.

Please check the MD5 hash of the DXAR file before flashing. It should ALWAYS be 'E51EFACDAAF088F0308857FFDA6C18FA'.

Dark_AleX has also just released the SDK for the firmware, but we suggest that only experienced developers download and use it, as a poorly coded custom firmware could mean a bricked PSP.

Now, onto 'HEN' release! Here's the changelog:

- Fixed a bug in a patch bad done in a delay slot that caused some umd games not to work when HEN was running (this issue was fixed in SE before)
- Fixed a bug in the loading of big user prx's, that affected a plain prx of socom2 umd, and some homebrew prx's.
- Bypassed a bad SCE protection that prevented the umd to be mounted if the application was run from the memory stick.
- Usb mass storage couldn't be loaded by homebrews in non-devhook version because semawm.prx is sign checked. HEN now applies the algorithm to reverse the sign check, letting this and the rest of firmware
- modules to be loaded by a homebrew.
- Added a SDK for HEN/SE.

Phew, well done, Dark_AleX!

Great!

Installing as I post, Dark_AleX deserves a medal!

PJ, can you come on MSN? I've found something interesting about what we discussed earlier.

Why oh why is everyone upgrading for the PS3? Booster is back - there's really no need to update.

You might like to add this into your post - it's an install archive, with simple drag-and-drop installation onto the memory stick, then you simply run the app and it's done. Much faster than faffing around with the EBOOTs and stuff.
