Lostprophet has just released his latest 'homebrew' application. However, it's not really a traditional, standalone homebrew, but rather, a patching device for another application.

This Windows executable patches the 'usbcam.prx' file from a firmware 2.71 or 2.71-SE-X firmware so that it bypasses the module checks from the Chotto UMD software. The program updates the module to that of firmware 3.02's PRX file.

The old Revision [A] only updated the file to firmware 2.82. Version [b] updates the module to that of firmware 3.02, eliminating the 15-second limit on video capture. Or, so it should.

Please make sure to read the readme for information on installation and patching. Also, take note of the fact that the alias 'PJPSP', which he used to release the first revision under, is still displayed in the patcher. Good work Lostprophet!

u can get rid of the 15 second limit!!?? thats fantastic!! im getting the camera

but sony style (sony store in malaysia) still doesnt have it

This should do it; we're not sure. Neither of us have the camera, so we don't know. We were told that in v3.02 there was no limit - so we updated it.

Don't go buying the camera just because someone says you can bypass the limit; we've had no feedback.
