Sony sure has been erratic with the numbering lately - the update after 3.90 was 3.93, rather than the logical 3.90 -> 3.91 jump, and this time they've leapfrogged over 3.94 to bring us 3.95!
The changelog runs as follows: Quote:
* While playing PSone games on your PSP, you can now customize how the buttons are assigned by going to [Controller Settings] > [Assign Buttons] and select [Custom].
* You can now quit Remote Play and choose to turn off your PS3 or leave it on after quitting. This is useful if you are performing a download and want to quit Remote Play, but still want your download to continue on the PS3. Select [Quit and Turn Off the PS3 System] or [Quit Without Turning Off the PS3 System] from [Quit Remote Play] when you press the HOME button on the PSP system.
| So no groundbreaking new features, just improvements with interaction with PS3 systems and custom PSX controller configurations. But in my opinion, this release mainly does the job of bringing us closer to the elusive 4.00 release.
Seeing as 2.00 brought us such things as a web browser, support for custom backgrounds, and TIFF file support, and 3.00 brought us PSX game compatibility and the music visualiser, 4.00 shouldn't be too skimpy on improvements itself! [Source] [Download]

But that's still a fairly minor feature; I think Sony has something bigger up their sleeves, like an official VNC app. |

I heard an official IM messenger is going to be put onto 4.00, and I heard ISO support too Who knows, what they will put in. I don't think $ony even knows what they're going to put in. |

Plus, there is already an IM messenger called Go!Messenger, but it doesn't support proper chat networks like MSN, AIM, and Y!, so an update to that looks likely. But official ISO support? Unlikely - they're trying to reduce piracy, not increase it. Even if they put some sort of protection on - remember how fast DA cracked the PSX games? Quote:

Maybe it's that I'm using a FF3 beta (which is awesome, BTW), but it doesn't give me the link. Would it be OK to include a direct link from the official PS site? Or perhaps use RS to share the file? | |
