Developers Hellcat and Mathieulh have released Custom Firmware 3.93! This was NOT developed by Dark_AleX or Team M33, but this was based off of their releases.
Custom Firmware 3.93 features:
Uses the 3.93 kernel
Implemented all the original custom firmware features.
Ability to use the normal recovery inside the XMB by pressing the HOME button:
When in the recovery, the system is suspended, and you can change all options directly.
All options work immediately, there is no need to reboot (even the Slim's USB charging option)
Ability to make a Pandora battery from the recovery, read and restore the EEPROM, etc. Providing that the motherboard supports it.
Ability to hide the MAC address in System Information, if you do so, the MAC will show visually as all 0's.
Ability to save the savegames in normal format, rather then encrypted (only functions in March33 and Sony NP9960 mode).
The native 3.93 pops isn't as good as the previous pops, therefor I hope the popsloader will get updated to support 3.93.
And here is a video of this firmware in action:
UPDATE: A 1.50 Kernel addon has been released for this custom firmware.
Quote:
Install kernel 1.50 on a PSP Fat. To use the 1.50 kernel for an application, you'll absolutely need to put the kernel to 1.50, even if the application is in the GAME150 directory. If you change the kernel in VSH Recovery, you'll still need a reboot.
The new recovery has this two asked features:
Suspend device
Shutdown device
!WARNING! Press “X” when the official updater finishes; if not, you will have a brick.
My Personal Website Look for me on Xbox Live. My gamertag is dq9. I got into CCSU! I have finals and concerts every night for the next couple of weeks. I'll be around, but not as much.
Awesome! I'll be updating one of my PSPs today, and I'll let you know what it's like. I don't really understand why they chose 3.93 as the base for this CFW - wouldn't 3.95 make more sense?

maybe they were already in the process of making custom 3.93 when 3.95 came out
OK, I've installed it, and I'm playing around with it as I type! It's pretty good, there's a lot more to the Recovery menu, and some colours have been changed in the Recovery menu too - not sure if I like them, but they do the job, the Recovery menu wasn't designed to look flashy anyway.
Bear in mind that the 1.50 kernel isn't included - the 1.50 kernel installer for 3.90 M33 doesn't start, it just kicks you out. This means some homebrew won't work.
I didn't test any ISOs, but Ridge Racer for the PSX (PAL) works just as well as it has done since 3.02 OE-B.

I remember some people came up with a way to install the 1.50 kernel on 3.73 HX-1, which didn't have an installer, so I'm going to look into that when I have the time. Until then, the only thing I use that doesn't work is PMP Mod (full 480x272 res video on PSP... the old-fashioned way!), but I can just use my other PSP for that.
The homepage news uploader still won't work. If you guys want to download this, you can always go to my source. Robert if you're reading this we need to do something about this. This isn't the first time this has happened.
