Would it be possible to write an application that tested what you were about to write to flash, before actually overwriting files, to see if the code you are about to write will brick your PSP?

That way you could test this stuff without bricking your PSP!

Or would this require a better understanding of the PSP hardware than is currently available?

Sorry if this is a stoopid question.

There's already a program for checking if it might brick your PSP. It's called PSafeP

So it would be interesting to know then, if the people who have bricked their PSP's tried the code first on PSafeP.

Because if it does actually check to see if you are about brick your PSP, and it works, then no-one should be bricking their shiny toys at all, and we should all be safe to test anything we want, provided we use PSafeP.

Right?
