Samsung, the current major manufacturer of memory chips for Sony, is not going to be making NAND flash memory modules for the PSP2 due to supply/demand problems, and furthermore, Sony claims they are opting for hard disk drives in the PSP2 in place of memory sticks, based on a report at The Korea Times. 
This is pretty exciting news on the PSP scene. Is the PSP2 coming earlier than we originally thought, since Sony is already working out contracts with companies, and weeding bad contracts out? This is pretty solid evidence that there is, in fact, a "PSP2" (although probably a mock-up name at this point).
Hard disk drives should have been implemented on the release of the current-gen PSP. That's basically the only thing keeping it from being the ultimate multimedia device out there. Whatever the case, at least we have the PSP2 to look forward to, and remember, PSP 3D will be here to hook you up with the latest "PSP2" info when it is released!

Remember guys and gals, there's still a good ~2-3 years left in the PSP's lifetime, so this isn't anything to get overly happy/upset about.

This is tight news, thanks psp3d, didnt see this one anywhere else. I cant wait till the new psp comes out although its still probably a long time away, but i cant believe these noobs dont want it to come out, wow. Just wow.
