Next PSP To Have Built-In Camera, 4GB NAND Flash Storage, And Video Streaming?

PSPworld has rounded up some interesting tips from an 'anonymous source'. This source claims to have solid information that the next PSP, dubbed currently as PSP 2, will have a built-in camera, be capable of streaming live video to the PS3, and will have an initial 4GB storage built-in, contrary to recent reports of 8GB NAND on the first generation PSP 2. Supposedly, it will also be available in three colors: black, white, and silver. We wouldn't be surprised if this information is in fact what the specifications of the PSP 2 will be, but these are just anonymous tips, so they shouldn't be fully trusted until an official press release is out by Sony.

"The next version of Sony's PSP will sport an integrated digital video camera that will allow users to stream live video to the Playstation 3, according to an anonymous source. The feature, which will utilize the PSP's Wi-Fi support, will be marketed as the new way to chat with friends while on the go.

According to the tipster, the "PSP 2" will also gain the recently rumored NAND flash storage, though the first generation of the new model will only be available with 4GB instead of the 8GB currently speculated. Sony will also trim approximately a quarter of inch from the device, and offer it in three color choices — black, white and silver.

The source claims that the tiny camera will be an off-the-shelf stock unit that is currently being used in several Sony Ericsson mobile phones, and will also allow users to take still photos, in addition to video. Its placement will be directly below the PSP's screen, where the "PSP" logo can currently be found."

Cool! That's just what I thought it would have but Sony would probably have more things to put in. I wonder what it will look like? No doubt there will be a PSP 2, there is always a sequel to successful Sony products.

psp 2 had better be at least another year and a half away. they should be more interested in ps3 production, than psp2. i wonder what they will call it tho....nothing sounds good with more than 3 syllables....p-s-p-sounds good, but p-s-p-2 sounds shitty as hell.

That's a load of crap. If it came out so soon, too many people would already have a PSP 1 and PS3's will not sell as well (or PSP 2's won't). Sony are business men, and good ones for that matter too, so they will not release the PSP 2 for another three or four years.
