Pelican Power Brick Being Recalled!

Electro Source has announced today that the Pelican Power Brick is being officially recalled, due to safety issues. As some of you all 'recall', now over a year ago when the Power Brick was released, there were several reports that the Power Brick had "exploded" or "melted" from many early PSP sceners back in the day. Many didn't believe them and thought it was just made up to get attention. Well now, Electro Source (Pelican) has finally admitted that the Power Brick is a faulty device, and is recalling the accessory to prevent further damages. Internal testing at Electro Source as well as over 143 customer complaints have shown that the Power Brick overheats from time to time, and one specific incident resulted in a fire. Talking about quality control! At least they took the proper responsibility and addressed this issue to possibly save lives.

Here is an excerpt from Pelican's FAQ showing the seriousness of the issue:
Q. I love my Power Brick, and it does not overheat. Do I have to return it?
A. The recall is for all Power Bricks, not just those which are overheating. You should stop using your Power Brick and return it. If you do not, you will continue to face a risk of property damage or injury.

If you happen to own one of these chargers, call 1 (800) 263-1156 or visit their website for more information, here.
