Firmware 2.7 Findings!

Zshadow has found some pretty interesting new .prx files embedded in the new 2.7 firmware, while messing around with the recent release of PSAR dumper (with 2.7 headers added). These .prx files could signal the release of many new accessories in the future. As you can see, there are a plethora of usbXXX.prx files in there, with such suffixes as "cam", "gps", etc. This is nothing unexpected though, as Sony mentioned in their PlayStation 2006 Business Briefing, they planned to incorporate the libraries for both the coming GPS and camera in the spring (2.7) firmware update. Still pretty cool stuff, and a nice find.

amctrl.prx
avcodec.prx
game_install_plugin.prx
iofilemgr_dnas.prx
irda.prx
mm_flash.prx
psheet.prx
usbacc.prx
usbcam.prx
usbgps.prx
usbgps_serial.prx
usbmic.prx
usbpspcm.prx
video_main_plugin.prx

Check out more information here.

i think we could program a chip whit a small program for overflowing the psp system through usb cord...because i think that an usb cam or an usb gps needs kernel...not right? We could program a chip for bypassing all protection and run unatorized code simply connecting the psp via usb! Maybe putting on this chip the version tricker and then for upgrade to 1.50 by all psp version

hm...but the chip using the usb cord will be like a modchip but is a great idea but the most likely dg will be with software because on modchip's we need to buy them and software we download them

Correct me if I am wrong, but you would need the $ony encryption code.
