just wanna get a few things straight..
we are not coding this to work on 2.5 in anyway, and 2.0 is doubtful as in without kernal mode. We are definantly not working on downgraders or other such exploits for sonys firmware.
On a lighter note, PSP-OSS is run like any other 1.5 homebrew applictaion. Once in it, you have an easy to use interface with a desktop, cursor and access to basic utils such as executing the UMD in your drive or Exiting back to the sony XMB. You also have the contents of your "Desktop" folder in front of you (which you can launch things from, such as Mp3s, Pngs, or pbps (exploited 1.5 eboots - not from the "%" folder) and access to a filebrowser, from which you can navigate to any directory on your memory card to open file from. - This is a great replacement for the Sony Oss, as it offers a familar interface (similar enough to a pc) where you can do things like play mp3s, while you browse your psp, open games from and other such things.
As said elsewhere, we are working with other devs to bring utilities such as pirc (an IRC client), a universal remote (control your tv from your psp) and others.
This project is similar to mbshell, and pheonixos. |
