Aserto has just released the first version of PSPirc, a LUA-based homebrew IRC client for the PSP. Internet Relay Chat, or IRC for short, is a popular chat room messanging medium, primitive to AIM/MSN, but superior in simplicity and functionality. This is a fabulous port of IRC to the PSP, allowing you to chat with all your buds on this awesome protocol, on the go! Great work Aserto!

Features in PSPirc include:
- Multichannel support.
- Base IRC commands support.
- Base DCC support (you can only receive files).
- Private messages support.
- Danzeff virtual keyboard.

Mmm, coming from a IRC fanatic and follower myself, I find programs like these outstanding for the community. Too bad Sony doesn't spend time making so beneficial as this for the PSP. This is why we need homebrew; not for the piracy, but for the open source goodness.

Ehh, I dont think the first thing a theft does is connect his/her stolen PSP to their computer...if they even know how, considering most normal PSP users dont even know that a USB cable can be used to connect to the PC.
