Recently many people have been starting to learn PS (Photoshop), but they don’t know where to go for information. This thread will cover the basic of PS plus add ons for PS that can make your Sigs ever better.

(I DID NOT MAKE ALL OF THESE! IM JUST SHOWING YOU!)

GETTING PHOTOSHOP

Well first things first, do you have Photoshop? If so then good, if not you have two choices. One, buy it for like $700 or download a 30 day trial version HERE. Two, Get it for free like the rest of the world. IF you picked two then i can't help you, that is illegal and you will have to look at torrent or limewire.

BRUSHES:

Brushes are a very cool thing to add to your sigs. With downloaded brushes you can can a brush that is exactly the style you are using in you sig.
TO USE:You might need a rar extracting program for some of the brushes. Dont have one? LINK
Once the brush file in extracted it should be in a abr. type format. If it is we are happy

, now we can use it. Place the .abr in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Presets\Brushes" If you are using a older version of PS a few brushes might not work for you. But if you look around you can see many others that will work like a charm.

To actually use them we need to add them to our other brushes. Press on the brush picture near the top of photoshop. Now all of our brushes should pop up. Press the button that looks like the play button in itunes.

Search for our brush and press it. Make sure to click append so the other brushes wont be deleted.

To use these you must right click, go to properties, copy the url, put it in the browser then save it.

FONTS:

Fonts are very important in sig making because sometimes a sig needs a special font that the computer just doesnt come with.

TUTORIALS:

Tutorials are really the foundation for every good GFX person out there. Tutorials show you options, skills and techniques that you just cant learn by yourself. Some tutorials use brushes that are not included in photoshop. Most can easily be found on google.

RENDERS:

Renders are images that have had there backgrounds taken out and been replaced with a transparent background. They are much easy to use then a image with a background.

C4D

C4d is short for a program called cinema 4D. This program creates awesome shapes that are used in sigs.

HELPFULL TIPS

-

Use Gradient Maps to add depth to a image. I really like a black to white Gradient Map set to Soft Light or Multiply.

-Always add a border to your sigs. In the tutorial section there are two great tuts on ways to do this.

-Try to smudge alot. SMudging helps the image look more blended and not so much as a image on another image.
