OK

No offence to anyone here, but you are all ignorant. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF NEWER TECHNOLOGY! USE THE MP4 AUDIO FORMAT FOR BETTER COMPRESSION AT THE SAME QUALITY!!!

Do a google search for the greatest audio converter, "dMC". Be sure to download the mp4 encoder plugin aswell. You'll just have to rename the .m4a files to .mp4. Using a QUALITY 70 (VBR) setting sounds nearley identical to 128kbps (yes ive compared carefully) at nearly half the size, and for a 96kpbs equivalent use 50 or even 60.

NOTE - Do NOT use the audio converter that comes with Nero! It creates DODGY mp4 tracks with scratches and skips!

There's not much spare room in the flash (15mb at most), and flashes can only be written to a limited amount of times before they burn out.

It's far too risky and all for the sake of 2/3 extra MP3s...

what?? you want to save music files on to the psp flash?... there isnt that much space! you can save directly to the memory sticks... if ur psp is connected since it will just be another drive.

there is no way the audio hardware on the psp can pick up that much of a difference... if your doing it for your computer its a different story... besides not every player supports mp4

OK ureal, i have no idea what you are talking about to be honest....

The PSP supports MP3, WMA and MP4 (including AVC compressed) audio formats, providing you have a 2.xx firmware. The audio hardware wouldn't pick it up? What's that got to do with anything? Nevermind this 96kbps MP3 vs 128kbps MP3 jazz, I'm saying that an mp4 file at near-equivalent quality to an MP3 will be ALMOST HALF THE SIZE DUE TO NEWER COMPRESSION ALGORITHMS. iPod's use MP4 aswell.

Oh and any XP machine with DivX can play mp4 audio, and any Mac will play them. But this is for PSP.

Double your space people! Encode to MP4 when copying music to the PSP!
