I use video manager to transfer my mp4's to the psp. It's only for moving videos between your pc and psp but is the most useful transfer tool I've so far tried. Although it's a little slow, it's the best solution for me because it automatically changes the filenames to psp valid ones when transferring, which means that all the mp4's on my pc can have meaningful filenames. That saves a lot of time and confusion when you've got 100's of anime episodes. This software will also allow you to change the video title (not the same as the filename) whilst it's on the pc or the psp. Although it's not documented, just click the title of a highlighted video and you can edit it just a like editing a filename in explorer.
The software is integrated in to the ImToo video converter, which I also use but you can download the free software separately here: PSP Video Manager

THM files are gifs or jpegs. If you want to have a look at one just open it in paint or similar graphic editor, just make sure to select "all files" in the file open dialog box to be able to see files with a THM extension.

To make one, take any picture file, resize it to 160 X 120 and save it as a gif or jpeg. Then rename your gif/jpeg to associate it with the video i.e for the video "M4V00003.MP4" you name the gif/jpeg "M4V00003.THM"
