This tutorial is something i've just put together to make realistic looking text using Adobe Photoshop CS2. (Click Images to Enlarge Them).
Firstly, Make a blank document or open the one you want to edit, and make some text wherever you want text to be, and in this case type PSP3D.
Next, you want to apply some blending effects to that text so that it has a shadow and has a bevel, to keep the text looking like it has depth.
Apply the Following Blending Options:
After this, you should have some text that looks pretty nice, and would be good for a simple banner, but this is where we turn the text into a 3D masterpiece.
Right then, now select the move tool, as the below picture shows:
After that tool is selected, press Alt + Right. This will then create a duplicate layer 1px to the right of your current text as the below picture shows.
Now, with the move tool still selected, Press Alt + The direction key that you want the text to duplicate in, and press this key combination around 10 - 15 to create your desired effect.
You Should End up With something like this:
