He's at it again! Dark_AleX has updated his massively popular 2.71 SE to revision C! The update has a very simple changelog -
- The ability to load modules from the memory stick
- but it's enough to get me interested! However, unlike other revisions of this firmware, it's not a simple, three-second install - you have to make the DATA.DXAR all over again, and reflash it. A tutorial and easy install archive coming soon (as soon as I can make it)!
But of course, Dark_AleX has made his own simple tutorial in the Readme. Here it is -
- Extract seupdmaker, seupdmaker%, 271seflasher and 271seflasher% from the NEWINSTALL folder into your GAME150 Folder (GAME folder on 1.50 or if you've changed it from the Recovery menu in 2.71 SE)
- Download the 1.50 and 2.71 Firmware updates.
- Rename the update PBP files to 150.PBP and 271.PBP
- Move them to the seupdmaker folder.
- After that, run the Update Maker application from the GAME menu. Once it's done making the DXAR file, move the newly generated DXAR file to the 271seflasher folder.
- Run 271 SE Flasher from the GAME menu to install 2.71 SE-C.
- Once installed, you can delete all the four folders.
But before flashing the DATA.DXAR, it is recommended to check the MD5 or SHA1, to make sure it's fine. Here's the codes -
