Now PSP Dev Becus25 has proved there indeed is.
He has released an application that lets you access them on your computer.
Flash2 and Flash3 are empty, so the assumable reason for these drives are probably for storage of future features on the XMB.
Read-Me: Toggle USB Flash 2/3 Special System For PSP
Here it is. With this you can acces via USB to the flash2 and 3 of your PSP.
Enjoy ! Also, you can access to MemoryStick
You can access to the drive on read/write files mode.
Copy the PSP folder to the root of your memory stick, then run the program.
Greetings.
-becus25
You may think to yourself 'Hasn't Booster already created an application like this?'
Well, Booster's is on read mode and beus25's is on write mode.
So with this you can redirect game-boots and XMB .rcos! Information on drives:
- Flash2 = 900 kbs
- Flash3 = 800kbs

Download it: Here (Link provided by jsf)

They're mostly used for PSX stuff and we think the game-save transfer feature might use one of them. It's not really advisable to store stuff in there.
Daniwul, it's not too difficult to do, if you'd like me to tell you. You have to decrypt the VSHMAIN module, modify it, and then set it to load AS WELL as the original module, as it won't pass security otherwise. Using this method, you can also change the font or menu colours, and you can have a 01-12.bmp FULL of full-sized background images. Just PM me for more info. (Don't worry about bricking, we're not touching the 1.50 kernel so we can restore it if need be).

EDIT: Yeah, lostprophet is right I think. This is where the gamesaves and photos are temporarily saved when you send/copy them... I think... lol.

Thanks Lost Prophet, but I'm really too dumb to be messing around with that stuff, and it isn't a necessity for me anyway;
3.03 OE-c has plenty of space. Although, I find when I run my music it takes a second or two too long to load. That could be a bug in the custom firmware, or something wrong when I installed it; so I can just re-install it and see how it goes... |
