Ok well i am gunna get a new motherboard and it is DDR ram and mine is DDR ram in my old comp. Now heres the question, the new motherboard uses DDR 400 (PC 3200) my old computer uses Pc2700 i dont understand this cuz when i flip my ram backward it fits look!

Points: 214.12 Donate | | | The easiest way is just to try it out. If you get a memory/motherboard error, or i t doesn't fit, then you know that either you've done something wrong, or it won't work. |

Points: 17.33 Donate | | | They both fits. The problem is the speed! If your computer only suports 333MHz memory then in you put a memory 400 Mhz it will became slower than a 333Mhz ! Believe it!

Points: 9.29 Donate | | | ah but my new computer does not have any ram i am pretty much getting rid of my old comp i am scravenging parts from it like a cd burner ram from it i dont have enough money thats why i am asking if my old ram is compatible It is 512 mb

I tought that you were trying to put the older memory in the new pc!

Points: 9.29 Donate | | | LOL ok i am trying to take out DDR ram from my old computer into my new 1 it is 512mb now the new motherboard is compatible with DDR 400 (Pc 3200) and my old computer is DDR 333 (pc2700) what i need to kno is can i take it out of my old 1 and put into my new 1 and will it work. Now i said when i first started the thread if i fliped it, it would go the same way is that ok to do?

Points: 17.33 Donate | | | Yes...do it! But if you have a 1G memoy at 400Mhz now and you are puting a 521 at 33Mhz it will became slower! But...it is compatible!
