I wanted to do this after my warranty runs out lucky I haven't done it yet because I just got the 3 rings of death

there 3 ROD is fixable
but u gotta have balls to do it
you remove the motherboard from the case then cover the plastic parts of the mobo in alo foil then u get a Heatgun and slowly do circles over the top of the motherboard do this for a few mins over the gpu and cpu rember to keep goin in circles you dont wanna apply to much heat to the one area
once u have done this dont touch or move the motherboard for a good 30min
the board has to fully cool down b4 you touch it other wise u just wasted your time

Cut-Throat, I flashed my hitachi 46d without soldering anything and I also have the sil3114 chipset which is a pci card. From what I've read the slax disc works on all of them except for the brand new ones that have surfaced recently.
EDIT:
My bad, apparently slax also works on the 0078fk version as well.

I know its been said before but i honestly think you'd do better posting this on www.xbox-scene.com

I wouldnt screw with my 360, it cost too much money, thats why i mod original xboxs, it's cheaper and if it goes wrong it's not the end of the world.

unless u have a specfic motherboard/chipset which i believe is VIA from memory there is no other way to flash your Hitachi drive unless you do the 2 wire trick

hahahaha, ur a liar, if u wernt u would know how 2 do it with just a few cables, and also i aint the 1 tryin 2 sound smart, please download this guide that tells you in full detail how to flash the firmware of all hitachi drives with NO soldering at all..... noob

soz dude, cut throat dont know wat he is talkin bout, download the guide if u wanna know how 2 flash ur firmware, but make sure it is hitachi, if you have a samsung u cant use that guide, but their is many other guides 4 samsungs, just search on google for 360 firmware flashing or go 2 xbox-scene, they have heaps of usefull stuff their
