This ones real real simple. Will a PCIe Video card work in a regular PCI slot?

no it wont work, the slot needs to be pci express and it needs to be either x16 or x1

There are PCI-X 8x and 4x aswell...? Cards only come in 8x and 16x though (what i've seen anyway).

Computers that have PCI-X slots are of the next generatiopn of x86 architecture. Finally they are branching away from the 286 standard that is decades old... but without going into extreme detail ill just say that PCI and PCI-X are COMPLETELY different and are in no way similar. I have NO IDEA why its even CALLED PCI Express....
