Xbox core + 20 GB hard Drive + HD DVD = $598.00 without tax..

The Xbox 360 premium is $499 Canadian, Core is $399 Canadian, PS3 20GB is $550, 60GB is $660. How many people NEED HD-DVD? Not as many as you think, clearly. Also, once the Blu-Ray players motor dies from playing too many BD-DVD's, you have to replace the ENTIRE PS3, you can't even play games after it dies, with the 360, you need to replace the HD-DVD drive and that is it, and the HD-DVD drive also works with Linux, Windows, and OS X.

Not quite. See #2.
The Core Xbox is unable to save games without a mem card or hardrive (extra), and XBOX 360 will never play HD DVD games, so all games have to be either smaller than 4.7 GB or on multiple disks. And I do mean MANY multiple disks. But still, the Wii rocks. Sweet.

The Core xbox is still a LOT cheaper than a 20GB PS3, even if you have to buy a memory unit. Microsoft never killed the rumor about HD-DVD games, they just said that they don't know. Also, A Dual Layer DVD holds 9GB, which considering Resistance fall of man is only 4GB or something like that, Blu ray has no advantage over the DVD format. Anyways, no way in HELL are dev's going to be using over 52GB for just game programming, there will be a LOT of filler and garbage data in there.

4) There is a HUGE lack of developer support for the PS3. Many third party companies are refusing to develop for Sony's console purely because it is too difficult to do so and because Sony has been too cocky as mentioned prior.

PS3 can program in C and other high level languages.
The reason everyone says that the PS are hard to program for is because the PS2 required you to program in a home made coding language.

The PS3 uses a variant of C, which sony's SDK is supposedly absolutely horrible and full of errors, while the Xbox 360 uses the .NET programming language which is widely used by PC programmers too and it has almost all of its bugs worked out, and is much easier language.

5) The Cell is a very difficult processor to code for, and as such it will take several generations of releases to truly harness the capabilities of the PS3.

Nope to the first half, but YES to the second.
I also believe that the XBOX360 is not being used to ITS full potential yet either, and that BOTH consoles will be neck and neck for a while.
But not forever.

Wrong again, the Cell processor is VERY difficult to program for, it is much harder to take advantage of all 7 SPE's, most just sit idle while the others are working, and 1SPE is not nearly as powerful as 1 of the xbox 360's cores, which have a dedicated cache. It is true that both consoles are not being used to their full potential, but by the time the PS3 reaches its full potential, the next xbox will be released. It it so difficult to program for because of sony's proprietary coding language.

6) There is simply a crappy launch lineup. Resistance and Rainbow Six: Vegas are undoubtedly the only good games out there for the PS3 right now.

AMEN. If you do not have a PS2 library by now, then wait a bit until after the holidays to try and get a PS3. Better games are coming, but not out yet.

If you already have a PS2 and want to play PS2 games, then why the hell would you want to spend money on a PS3 just to play your PS2 titles? Doesn't make sense to me. It will be quite a while until good PS3 games, the only PS3 game I am looking forward to is Killzone 2, that is the only one. Most PS3 exclusive titles that I want to play made the jump over to the xbox 360!

7) There is no rumble support in the SIXAXIS controller. This may not seem big, but tactile feedback actually adds a lot more to games than one might think.

I don't know dude. I had to turn mine off during REAL games, the month long hours of leveling up ones. After a while, it just makes your hands numb.
Besides, I am hoping for a new Katamari Damacy that uses the controller to roll!

I tried playing CoD3 for Xbox 360 without rumble (the tilt sensor isn't used much in the PS3 version anyways) and it actually sucked, Rumble adds a lot more than you think. And believe it or not, CoD3 on the 360 looks better than the PS3 version.
