Points: 11.62 Donate | | Brain Stumper Yeah, I made a brain teaser just before my history class started, and no one could solve it.
Therefore I challenge YOU, the anonymous internet, to solve my glorious mind crushing puzzle~!
The puzzle is simple, the answer is simple, and if you think you know the answer, be the first to post it below (No edits please)!
^_^ Good luck!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There exists Four Categories, Categories A, B, C, and D, such that:
Category A = 1, 5, 10
Category B = 2, 4, 6, 9, 11, 15
Category C = 3, 7, 12, 14, 16
Category D = 8, 13, 17
What Category should the number 19 be added, and why? (Hint: The answer is the same category that 21, 30 and 25 go in!) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ First one to solve it gets their name added to this post!
First Place: (Maybe you!)
Second Place: (Hopefully Not You...)
Third Place: (Try and be faster next time!) To help people out, here are some wrong guesses!
(good try guys) 1. Gamer420 ~
But it would be category B because u added 2 to each of the first 2 numbers and then 3 and then 2 again and then 4 and then u would add 4 again and get 19 then add 2 to get 21 and then 4 again and get 25 and then add 5 to get 30. 2. chessus123 ~
All the categories (You forgot why! Don't worry, it was wrong.) 3. Time For A Game ~
Because category A has the 1, 5, 10 numbers. Then the number 19 comes in and then the number 21, 25 and 30. 4. smoke257 ~
The answer is B, as the pattern differences go: 2,2,3,3,4,4. It works out. (Umm... I honestly got confused trying to understand this one.) 5. chessus123 ~
I think that 19 can not go into any of the categories. (Why not?)
Keep trying guys! I am dying to spoil it, so someone figure it out quick!
MAJOR HINT (WARNING, SPOILER ALERT!) ANSWER (WARNING, SPOILER ALERT!) Quote: | ^_^ If you write each number as a Roman Numeral, category 1(a) has one letter, category 2(b) has two letters, category 3(c) has three letters, category 4(d) has four letters. So there for, 19(IXX), 21(XXI), 25(XXV), and 30(XXX) all go in category 3(c). |
But it would be category B because u added 2 to each of the first 2 numbers and then 3 and then 2 again and then 4 and then u would add 4 again and get 19 then add 2 to get 21 and then 4 again and get 25 and then add 5 to get 30. :P |
^_^ Yeah, I think this is a great mind bender!
My GF says that it will take 2 days min for you guys to figure it out, a month max, if I do not spoil it by giving hints.
Speaking of which, I will give you one:
I can easily do this from memory, which means that it isnt a fifty step process.
Like I said before, the puzzle is simple, the answer is simple.
It should not take a paragraph.
"(Hint: The answer is the same category that 21, 30 and 25 go in!)"
because category A as the 1, 5, 10 numbers. then the number 19 comes in and the the number 21, 25 and 30.
just guessing don't have much time to thing as I gotta study maths |
I did no adding, multiplying, subtracting, square rooting, squaring, raising or rooting by any power, etc.
^_^ No calculator needed.
O.o and the answer really is SIMPLE.
And no, no one has figured it out yet. |
