I think you mean either Apple or Microsoft -- or -- PC or Mac

Mac OS X is the best.

Well, Windows has loads of apps, but major security issues, while Macs have not as many apps, little to none security issues, and Boot Camp (letting you run Windows on your Mac). So OSX wins in my opinion.

I think Windows is currently the best OS out there at the moment, mainly because it's so widley spread (like 90% or somthing).
P.S I know you can run Windows on a Mac, but what about Linux?

I personally prefer Windows over Mac. I had to use a Mac at my tech school I went to for my senior year and I came hate Mac. The freeze up and the programs have a habit of quitting on you without warning which sucks when you're doing a project or something. I'd go with Windows if I were you.

Obscure does not necessarily mean SECURE. PC's are cheaper, if you install linux on your PC and take the appropriate security measures, you'll have a nice stable and secure system.

I think the Windows OS is the best OS out of Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

The only downside with windows is the security vulnerabilities. 99.999% of all viruses out there target the Windows operating system because Windows is so widely used. If you install a firewall and some antivirus software you wont go wrong. Near enough all the games released for the main games consoles are released for the Windows OS. Stay away from 9x and ME, stick with 2k, XP or Vista.

Linux advantages is that it is free and there is loads of free software for it. Most of the free software writen for linux is also available for windows (Firefox, OpenOffice etc). Compatibilty issues with newer hardware.

OSX looks nice, but the hardware is expensive. Very few games are available for Mac OS X, and those that are available are released months after the Windows release. Ideal for graphic designers.
