I love lamp too!

I think that's what he means in theory Hydra.

I'm kind of a dumbass and I got lousy grades in school so I would have never thought of anything like this whole Pi thing.

It's just a theory. I don't know if it's possible...

Oh, it's possible. Unfortunately, it would take hundreds and hundreds of years to find something useful.

First off, we would need a very, very long Pi. The 1.24 trillion record might be just enough for an image to be inside it. You have to remember that because it's every possible combination, 99.9999% of it is crap. We would need to convert the entire 1.24 trillion characters into plain ASCII, so we have normal stuff. Then, we would need to go through every single byte and find something recognisable, like a file header. Even then, we would have a one in 10^37 chance of it actually being valid.

You see, every file that exists is in Pi, somewhere. We're probably never going to find more than 1 or 2 complete files. Text strings are alot easier. You just brute force the file containing the ASCII converted version of Pi with a dictionary, and we can locate real words. That's how we found 'info'.

It is, isn't it?

To think... 4.00 OE-C, the genetic makeup of God, the secret of hover cars, the PSP2, and even us are in Pi somewhere...

so much from circumfrence / diameter,
p.s. on Paul's Page of Pi it describes the usage of pi over the 10-20th place as Wholly useless.

I had the same idea about a year ago. I got board and gave up. In our math class we had to round pi to 4 million decimal points. I can up load the text file if you like.
