Ok my republican friend, I think I know how to help you. Insert the XP disk and boot from that, Choose repair using recovery console or something like that and type CHKDSK. This will take a Loong time so just leave it for a while.

If that doesn't work there should be an option to repair just before you go to install. It will seam like a full install (you'll need a product key) but when it's done, you should have all of you're files and setting's.
