ok vanilla extract has alcohol in it
im pretty sure its methyl alcohol wich can kill/make you blind
if someone drank about 10 drops in soda
would that be enough to do anything
especially if they felel nothing but a slight stomach ache wich might be all in their head cuz there nervous |

- The Straight Dope: Can you get drunk on Listerine? How about vanilla extract?
fyi, vanilla extract contains only 35% alcohol...65% water (requirement by FDA...maybe more in some vanilla extract manufacturers)... 10 drops (which is most definitely not a full bottle of vanilla extract) of it in soda won't do THAT much damage...you'll get more of a stomach ache, probably... like you mentioned above.

ok how long ago was this drank#1. and #2 if it was only like a few drops and it was in soda nothing really should happen if im not mistaken

Just kidding. Vanilla extract won't kill you, unless you like chug it.

Plus, that stuff tastes nasty straight. Best to mix it with some whipped cream and sugar  .
