Well, I did it. I finally broke down and bought a Macbook. I never thought that I would own an Apple computer, and now I do. It's a Core 2 Duo 2.00ghz, 2GB of DDR2 667 RAM, DL DVD burner, 802.11n wireless, 80gb HDD. I got it all for $1300 CAD (Which is an insane deal)
One thing that I miss right away it the trackpoint. On my Thinkpad laptop, that is all I ever used, I was very skilled at using the trackpoint, almost at the point where I was faster than an actual mouse. Another thing I miss it the PC card slot. I forgot that my CF card reader used a PC card slot, so now I have to go and buy an all in one usb memory card reader. Another think I miss is the thinklight, great if you are using your laptop at night (I know the Macbook pro has the backlit keyboard, but I didn't have that much money)
One thing I don't like about it is the sharp edges around the bezel, it starts hurting my hands after using the trackpad for a while (doesn't interfere with typing.
The keyboard is very nice in terms of laptop standards, but still does not beat thinkpad keyboards (IMO).
Now for the operating system. OS X is an ok operating system. I was having some trouble when I had to reinstall it (would do loops while installing iMovieHD) but I managed to fix that (took 2 hours though

) Paralell's is just awesome. Being able to boot into XP amazingly fast is awesome, then I can run the apps I need to run. Haven't run into any major problems yet, a few occasional slowdowns and one crash. Booting into xp seems to take a bit longer than it did on my thinkpad, which wasn't as fast as this one.
So far, I like what I see, but it isn't as good as a thinkpad.
The iSight is a nifty feature, but won't get much use from me.
