Any way, I recently had to reinstall OS X and when I went to put Parallels Desktop, a legal virtual machine program for mac, back on my computer it worked fine. But when I went to reinstall windows it said my cd key had been used to many times. I know I have used it 3 times, but it was on the same computer. Once when I first installed Bootcamp, twice when I had to rebuild my computer, and thrice when I switched to Parallels! Is there any way to reset this or fix this problem?

Oh, by the way, I hope you are trying to run XP. Only Windows Vista Ultimate is alowed to run on a virtual machine. All the other ones generate some sort of error, but I can't tell you what because I don't own a copy of Vista.

if you add new hardware it has to update the microsoft database.
if you add more than 3 new hardwares at a time youll be required to get a new serial key. |

Points: 8,737.13 Donate | | I tried calling Microsoft a few days ago to activate my new PC. The dang computer-voice system is retarded and says my copy of XP is invalid. I have to always wait and say nothing when it requests for information (activation code) till the voice says "I'm sorry this is taking so long, let me connect you to a customer support representative".
Then the outsourced representatives override the "invalid" activation crap for me. It's a good thing they don't know I have the same copy of XP installed on over five of our household computers/laptops...
